NMSU Announces Tailgating Rules

With New Mexico State University’s football season just around the corner, Aggie fans are gearing up to keep the tailgating tradition alive and spirited. Revisions to tailgating regulations were added to NMSU 2024-2025 Tailgating Regulations for the upcoming season.

Changes to football tailgating regulations state the student lot will close two hours after the game or midnight, whichever occurs sooner. For non-student lots with a 5 p.m. or later kickoff, tailgating is allowed from 11 a.m. until two hours after the game or midnight, whichever occurs sooner. Games that start earlier than 5 p.m., tailgating is allowed from 9 a.m. until two hours after the game or midnight, whichever occurs sooner. 

General football tailgating regulations include parking in tailgating approved areas, no tailgating during the game, only one person may remain at a tailgate station during the game to watch equipment and no alcohol may be consumed at the tailgate station during the game.

Football tailgating regulations for the student lot state vehicles are not permitted to be parked in/or next to the NMSU Student Tailgate Field, tailgating is allowed three hours prior to the start of the game until 30 minutes before kickoff, no tailgating is allowed in the area during the game, individuals must be 21 years of age or older to consume or be in possession of alcohol, glass containers are not permitted, no hard liquor is allowed and drinking games are prohibited.
