FBI Offers Reward for Information on Suspect in Las Cruces Bank Robbery

The FBI and Las Cruces Police Department are seeking the public’s help in locating Daniel Guereca, who is wanted in connection to a bank robbery that occurred in Las Cruces last month.

The robbery happened around 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20 at the PNC Bank at 3800 E. Lohman Ave. Authorities say the suspect entered the bank and demanded money from a teller, who handed over an undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries were reported.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to Guereca’s arrest and conviction.

Guereca is described as Hispanic, approximately 6 feet tall with a thin build and weighing about 185 pounds. At the time of the robbery, he was reportedly wearing a green hat, a black Adidas jacket with white stripes down the sleeves, glasses and a surgical mask.

Bank robbery is a federal offense that can carry a sentence of up to 20 years in prison. If a weapon, replica or hoax device is used during the crime, the penalty can increase to up to 25 years.
