The City of Las Cruces will host its annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Dec. 6. The event will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Plaza de Las Cruces, 100 N. Main St., according to a community announcement.
According to the Las Cruces Sun News, the ceremony will include live music, giveaways, refreshments, food trucks and activities for families. Mayor Eric Enriquez will light the tree at 7 p.m.

After the tree lighting, the Rio Grande Theatre will screen “Irving Berlin’s White Christmas” at 8 p.m. Admission for the movie is $5 per person, and doors will open following the ceremony.
